CES 2012: Hands on: Motorola Motoluxe review

Motorola recently announced the approaching availability of the Motoluxe here at CES 2012. It's a budget Android phone which is expected to be released in Europe and Latin America in February.

The Gingerbread-equipped smart phone has a 4-inch edge to edge touchscreen display.

It's obviously intended as a low to mid-level option for users, but that doesn't mean it's completely devoid of appealing features.

We were struck by how exceptionally lightweight and slim the phone was. While obviously much more rounded out than theiPhone 4S, body size was fairly similar.

There's also a few Motorola UI tweaks, like the Social Graph, which gives contacts bigger pictures the more you interact with them.

The features are a bit on the slight side, but you'll find a rear-facing 8MP camera (with flash) and a front-facing VGA camera.

The phone has a light up lanyard slot, which serves as a notification light for texts, emails, and the like.

The Motoluxe has an 800MHz processor and a 1400mAh battery, which should last for about 6.5 hours of talk time.

The phone has already launched in the Greater China area, under the moniker Motorola XT320.

Still no word on pricing, but we'll let you know when we know.
