The rumoured Google X Phone made by Motorola has checked-in for another action-packed thrill ride on the speculation merry-go-round, with purported specs and images appearing online today.
New details on the device, which will reportedly be the first Motorola handset branded as a Google product, have claimed that the feature set will be headlined by a giant 16-megapixel camera.
That would be supplemented, according to the anonymous source who tipped off AndroidWorld, by an equally high-spec 5-megapixel, front-facing snapper with light-sensing and eye-scrolling technology. That last feature has been trumpeted as a potential inclusion on the new Samsung Galaxy S4.
The X Phone would also, according to the tipster, have a 4.7-inch full HD screen and be powered by the Nvidia 4i multi-core processor, unveiled at CES 2013 and clocked at a particularly swift 2.3GHz.
X marks the spot
The blurry, leaked snap that accompanied the specs, refers to the handset as the Motorola NXT, with an emphasis on the X, but doesn't give too much away in terms of design.
The handset certainly appears to have a squarer body akin to the recent Motorola Razr Maxx HD, which is backed up by the purported 131.2 x 66.7 x 7.9 millimeter dimensions.
If the photo proves legitimate, the X Phone won't have the bezel-less display that some older speculation had predicted.
Good time for a leak...
Previous reports had suggested that the device will be the first to boast Android 5.0: Key Lime Pie and will be unleashed at Google I/O this summer.
We haven't heard much about prospective specs for the X Phone for a couple of months, so it's interesting that an alleged spec sheet has popped up just three days before Samsung unleashes the Galaxy S4.
Coincidence? Or could this possibly be Google/Motorola's way of stealing a little thunder from Samsung's flagship launch of the year?
