Sony's 2013 Xperia smartphone line-up may be adding two new members very soon if some U.K. retailer listings are to be believed.
Reportedly set to join the Xperia Z are two smaller Android-powered devices with the codenames Huashan (Xperia SP) and Taoshan (Xperia L).
The two phones popped up on retailer sites like Amazon U.K. and LambdaTek, with the latter indicating both Xperia models are set to arrive on March 19.
This isn't the first time we've heard about these new Xperia smartphones joining the Xperia Z, but Sony has yet to actually reveal these new devices to the world. It's suspicious that neither phone was mentioned during Mobile World Congress last month, and these could just be placeholder names, but it's worth examining the possibility of a few new Xperia's nonetheless.
All in the family
We know very little concrete information about either the Xperia SP or the Xperia L, but there are some rumors about each phone's specs.
Like their bigger brother the Xperia Z, both new models will reportedly run Jelly Bean, include an 8MP camera, and feature 8GB of memory with an expandable micro SD slot.
The Xperia SP will have a 4.6-inch 720p display, and include a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T processor.
The Xperia L will be slightly less impressive, and will use a 4.3-inch 854 x 480 display, and includes a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Retail listings show both phones will be available in black and white versions, though there is some discrepancy about the price point of each device.
LambdaTek indicated a £312.98 (US$466.25, AU$455) price for the Xperia SP, while MicroAid lists the SP for €389.79 (US$507.27, UK£340.52, AU$494.87).
The same price gap can be found on the Xperia L, which LambdaTek lists at £219.18 (US$326.51, AU$318.60) and MicroAid has for €270.46 (US$352, UK£236.27, AU$343.47).
If the retailers are correct, we won't have long to wait and find out just what lies ahead for both Sony phones.
