AT&T will offer the flagship Nokia Lumia 900 for just $99.99 on a two-year contract, according to reports.
The 4.3-inch, 4G LTE-enabled device was announced to great acclaim at CES earlier this month and is set to go on sale on March 18th as an AT&T exclusive.
The surprisingly low premium gives Nokia a fantastic opportunity to gain a foothold in the key US market with its all-important Windows Phone offering.
The attractive handset will cost half the price of the cheapest iPhone 4S 16GB, which is $199 on a two-year contract, while the top end Motorola and Samsung phones will set buyers back $299.
Back with the big boys
The Lumia 900 is arguably Nokia's most impressive device in years, so the low price point represents a huge desire to get back amongst the Android and iOS big boys, with its Windows Phone offering.
The device also boasts an 8-megapixel camera with a wide angle lens alongside the Carl Zeiss tech so celebrated on Nokia phones of yesteryear.
Earlier this month we reported that other US networks may get access to the device when AT&T's period of exclusivity comes to an end, although Nokia has not acknowledged this.
