Samsung Galaxy S3 leaked in video ahead of launch

A video has appeared on a Vietnamese website claiming to show off the Samsung Galaxy S3 ahead of the launch event in May 3.

Appearing on website Tinhte, the video reveals various specifications about Samsung's next-generation handset.

According to the video the Samsung Galaxy S3 will pack a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.6-inch HD (720x1184) screen, 8MP camera and NFC technology.

Home button, what home button?

Interestingly the handset in the video looks similar to photos leaked earlier this week, however the device in the video is missing the physical home button we saw in the images.

We've heard reports that Samsung spent considerable time deciding whether or not the Galaxy S3 should have a physical home button with the outcome apparently ruling in favour of the physical option, so something doesn't quite add up here.

The original Tinhte video has now been set to private on YouTube - make of that what you will. However Engadget was quick off the draw and managed to rip a copy for your viewing pleasure.

Update: Apparently Engadget has recieved a legal request to remove the video from their site. Tim Stevens, Engadget's Editor-in-Chief tweeted;

"So we just got a legal request to pull the video from our GSIII post... That might just tell you something"

At the end of the day it's still not clear if the handset in the video is the Galaxy S3 or just an elaborate fake. Luckily we don't have long to wait until the Samsung Galaxy S3 launch event on May 3, and we'll be there to bring you all the news as it breaks.
