LG Optimus L5 finally gets release date

The LG Optimus L5 has been MIA since its February announcement, but the handset has finally been given a European release date.

The good news for those clamouring for the handset and its "seamless merger of style and technology", is that the LG Optimus L5 is making its way to the UK this month.

Also getting the L-Style handset and its Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) OS in June are Germany and France, with the Middle East, Asia, Central and South America all lining up in the months that follow.

Underwhelming

First announced way back in February at MWC 2012, the LG Optimus L5 comes with a body depth of just 9.5mm and a 4-inch HVGA screen. There's also a 5MP camera with autofocus and an LED flash on the back.

Internally, you're looking at 4GB of storage plus a micro SD slot, NFC capability and a fairly underwhelming A5 800MHz processor.

When we crafted our hands on LG Optimus L5 review in Barcelona, we weren't massively enamoured of the handset - its video recording capabilities let the camera down, while the keyboard proved quite tricky - less than ideal for a mid-range phone aimed squarely at the text-loving fashion-savvy market.

No official word on LG Optimus L5 UK price just yet, but keep an eye out for that news closer to its late-June release date.
